From Val's Kitchen
#1. What’s your favorite white beverage? If you don’t have one, what’s your favorite beverage with something white in it?

I don’t really have a favorite because I’m mostly a tea drinker. White tea is OK, but not my favorite. I’ve had a Vanilla Bean Blended Creme Frappuccino from Starbucks a couple of times that was really good. My favorite beverage with something white in it would have to be a float with vanilla ice cream.
#2. What’s your favorite white gravy, sauce, condiment, dressing or topping?

Alfredo Sauce is so yummy, but we rarely have it because of the high fat content. I fix a low-fat version that’s OK.
#3. What’s your favorite white item from the refrigerated section?

Plain, organic yogurt which I sweeten with Stevia, then add vanilla flavoring & fresh fruit…yummy!
#4. Share a recipe for something white.

Wash green grapes, take off the vine, dip individual grapes in melted white chocolate bark, and then freeze. Store in the freezer until ready to eat. Refreshing during the hot days of summer!

As we age, we tend to get unwanted wrinkles, some of us more so than others. I think we notice our own wrinkles a lot more than other people do. If a person has a nice smile, most people will notice the smile first. Still, wrinkles are a concern to people, and they might use something like the top wrinkle cream in order to minimize their wrinkles. Just remember that a friendly smile is one of the best assets you have!

If you have not voted in the Renuzit TriScents “Transform Your Home with Tanya Memme” semi-finalist gallery, then I urge you to go vote today. In fact, you can vote once every day through June 7 for one of the ten semi-finalists. The winner with the most votes will win a $20,000 Home Makeover.

The picture at the top shows my choice of Renuzit’s ten semi-finalists. My choice is for a precious family who has triplets. They have one young daughter who tells why we should vote for her family. She tells their story in rhyme in a very creative way that is humorous at times. I hope their family wins because just having one baby is a strain on the family budget. I can’t imagine having three babies to take care of at one time.

The young daughter tells of the need for Renuzit’s Triscents to freshen the air in certain areas of their home where there is a frequency of diaper changing. With three babies, I can imagine there is a constant stream of diapers, especially dirty diapers. Can you imagine what the air must smell like? The little girl holds her nose, and I think that pretty well illustrates the situation!

Our daughter’s husband, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law have been on several cruises. They really enjoyed them and especially all the delicious food. We have never been on a cruise, but wouldn’t it be fun to go on a royal caribbean cruise? What would really be fun would be to go on a cruise with all our family and our son-in-law’s family. And Baby J would love having two grandmas along!

Here’s a quick and easy, low-fat recipe that is great for a meal or an appetizer:

  • 1 pound lean ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 package taco seasoning mix
  • Salsa for dipping

Combine the first two ingredients and mix well. Shape meat mixture into 1-inch meatballs. Brown in skillet with a little EVOO. Drain on paper towel. Serve with salsa.

Makes around 25 meatballs.
