Chocolate Cake in a Mug in 5 Minutes

Trying to cut back on sweets but have a craving for chocolate cake?  Instead of baking a whole cake, try making this small cake in the microwave.

VERSION ONE INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 3 tablespoons oil

VERSION TWO INGREDIENTS – LOWER FAT:

  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla yogurt
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons oil

FOR BOTH VERSIONS:

Mix dry ingredients in a large mug.  Stir in 1 egg.  Add milk OR yogurt.  Stir.  Add in oil and mix well.  Microwave 3 minutes on maximum power.  Let the cake finish rising.  Tip mug over a plate, and the cake will come out.  Enjoy!

  1. This sounds amazing and so easy! I will have to try that soon, especially since I’m the only chocolate-lover in the house.

  2. What a great idea! We just ate a Carrabas or whatever it is called and they were introducing a new dessert that was a bit bigger than a shot glass. I think it is a good idea to have smaller desserts. Thanks for the great recipe.
