When it comes to getting a car, I’ve heard from various sources that it’s good to get a car that’s at least two years old.  A new car depreciates a lot just after driving it away from the dealership.  However, there might be parts that one wants to replace.  For example, if someone has a Ferrari, they might want to replace Ferrari parts on it because they want to upgrade the features.  Even after upgrading a car, it would still be a better deal than buying a brand new one.
