Here is where you can get a $1 coupon for “method” cleaning products.  Their slogan is “method. creates products for people against dirty.”  And the great thing about their products is that they are safe and non-toxic, developed by two former roommates who were exposed to toxic material.  Their experience resulted in these non-toxic products.  The one product we have tried works great.

These are the locations where you can purchase Method products:

  • Babies R Us
  • Bed, Bath, & Beyond
  • Costco
  • Lowe’s
  • Safeway
  • Staples
  • Target
  • Toys R Us
  • Whole Foods

method-eucalyptus-cleaner-11-09Target is one of my favorite places to shop (my daughter knows that – it’s one of her favorites, too) and while I was going down the cleaning products aisle I noticed this tub ‘n tile bathroom cleaner.  What caught my attention on the label were two things:

  • “Non-Toxic”
  • “No Harsh Fumes”

I had been using another cleaner with such horrible fumes that I had to leave the bathroom.  One time my college-age son asked me what it was that smelled so bad.  That’s how bad it was.  The fumes made me wonder what toxic chemicals were in the cleaner.  So…I was thrilled when I saw this cleaner at Target.  We tried it and think it’s GREAT!  My husband really likes it, too, and is using it to clean a bunch of things.  It’s awesome because:

  • Smells great!
  • Does an awesome job of cleaning!
  • We don’t have to worry about toxins!
  • It’s biodegradable!
  • Cleaners are plant-derived!

Plus…when I first bought it, it happened to have a coupon on it.  I like to use coupons and save money when I can, so I thought I’d give the product a try since it had a coupon.  Now, we’re sold on that product and want to try more Method brand products.   And guess what!  I found another Method coupon!!

This organic comforter from Happy Planet looks so soft and cozy.  However, I couldn’t keep a white comforter in our bedroom because I put stuff on our bed everyday such as my purse, the mail, plus I fold laundry on it.  So it would have to have a duvet cover on it.  We actually do have a soft comforter with a cover, but it is not organic.  This one would be great for people with allergy problems or anyone who did not want chemicals on their comforter.

Organic cotton sheets from Happy Planet look like they would be soft and comfortable.   These sheets are made from organic cotton which does not contain harmful chemicals.  Have you ever had new sheets that had an odor before they were washed?  That makes me wonder what kind of chemicals were used to make the sheets and possibly what pesticides were used on the cotton. Organic cotton takes away those concerns.

swiffer-duster-9-24-09

I have been so busy this week!  I did substitute teaching Monday through Friday plus my private tutoring that I do at home on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  And then on Wednesday evenings, I teach a toddler class.  I kept thinking that I really need to dust, but I didn’t want to take the time to do it.

Thanks to MS&L, I received the Swiffer 360 Duster to use in my home.  I used it last night, and it made dusting go so much faster.  And I was able to dust those “hard to dust” places easily, places like electronic equipment, window blinds, decorative ridges on furniture, around cords and wires, etc.

Another great thing about the Swiffer 360 Duster is that it reduces up to 90% of common household allergens from dogs, cats, and dust mites.  The fluffy dust-locking fibers lock up to two times more dust and allergens than a feather duster.

2nd-sd-card-swiffer-1-29-09-002

See what I received this week?  It’s my new Swiffer Sweeper, 2 in 1 Starter Kit.  I have been sick this week, and so I was thrilled to be able to sweep and mop my kitchen floor in five minutes!  It looks so shiny and smells so good.

2nd-sd-card-swiffer-1-29-09-003

I have an old Swiffer, but I must admit this  new one works much better.   After I put the new Swiffer together (which is a “snap”…all you have to do is literally snap the pieces together which takes half a minute), then our cute little dog checked out what I was getting ready to do.  I put her outside, then I proceded to use the dry sweeping cloth which surprised me by picking up all sorts of dust, crumbs, pet hair, etc., and it held on to them.  Then I used the wet mopping cloth and was able to reach deep into corners under the overhang on our cabinets.

What I like about the new Swiffer is that it is stronger.  That’s one thing I didn’t like about the old one.  I felt like the old one wasn’t strong enough to scrub on tough spots.   But the new Swiffer is definitely stronger and easier to use!

When it’s time to clean house, there’s nothing worse than having a vacuum cleaner that doesn’t clean well. And if someone suffers from allergies, then it is very important not only to vacuum often but also not to spread allergens into the air.  The Allergies Buyers Club has all sorts of HEPA vacuum cleaners which trap allergens, something so important for allergy sufferers.  These vaccuum cleaners will help sufferers to have a clean, healthy home with reduced allergens.
