We just got back from traveling a long way to see my mother-in-law. When I say long, I’m talking about approximately 1,700 miles of driving round-trip.  We didn’t have a vehicle maintenance log, but my husband made sure the oil was changed, new windshield wiper blades put on, tires checked, etc.,  before we left home.  Our vehicle was in great condition for the trip!

We didn’t have gps route planning software to use on our trip, but our son has an iPhone which has a GPS on it.  That was great because we relied on his GPS to route us a different way when three lanes converged into one due to construction on the highway we were traveling on.  Re-routing helped!  If we lived in this area, it might be nice to have an automated meter reading to help us figure out the best routes to take on a daily basis.  Whatever type of traveling, there are ways to make it  efficient.

Did you know that there are cutting edge, safe driving systems that have been created with an emphasize on safe driving behavior and creative technology?   One patented system monitors drivers and “mentors” them so they can learn to reduce speeding and aggressive driving.   It also monitors seat belt habits to encourage drivers to always wear their seat belt so they will be in compliance with the law.

Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) is the safety program used by FMCSA to encourage safer driving by large trucks and buses.  It focuses on seven major behaviors that cause crashes.  CSA 2010 is such a program.  Being a solution oriented global leader, inthinc is devoted to improving safer driving behaviors with programs such as this.

Teenagers just learning to drive are a major concern for many parents.  It’s not that their teen is a bad driver but rather an inexperienced driver when it comes to handling a vehicle on a busy road.  There are all types of factors such as distracted driving that can cause accidents, and inthinc is committed to helping reduce those accidents.

What do you get a teenager for Christmas?  If it’s a guy, maybe something in the way of video games or a gift card to their favorite video game store, speakers for their car, or a gift card to their favorite clothing store if they like to shop for clothes.  If it’s a girl, a gift card to their favorite clothing store would definitely be a hit.  These are just a few gift ideas.

I was just thinking how Father’s Day is just around the corner.  What do you get a guy for a gift?  Girls are usually easier to shop for, but sometimes I have a hard time coming up with a creative idea for my husband.  There’s always something for his car like door mats or some kind of accessory.   Maybe I should have him make a list and then choose from that.

If any of you have a gift that is hard to wrap, I saw huge gift bags at Bed, Bath, & Beyond that would work great if the gift isn’t too big.   Now, if you have truck accessories that you need to wrap, that’s a different story.   If the gift is huge or practically impossible to wrap, one thing you can do is wrap a list of clues as to where the gift is hidden and have the recipient of the gift try to find it.  That can be fun if the clues aren’t too hard.

Have you been in heavy traffic during rush hour in a big city?  It is crazy driving in traffic like that.  I’m concerned about the motorcyclists who are driving between big trucks.  If they had an accident, they might need a San Jose motorcycle accident attorney It’s bad enough for cars to travel between 18-wheelers.  In fact, I’ve read that it’s really not as safe to travel between them in case of an accident.  In a situation where vehicles have to stop very suddenly, it’s sometimes hard for huge trucks to stop that quickly.  So I try to make it a habit not to travel directly in front of those trucks.  It’s better to be safe than sorry!

Some people are interested in getting chrome accessories for their car or vehicle.  Chrome door handles, chrome trim, or chrome window visors add to the look of the car.  Some people are looking for accessories for the interior of their vehicle such as additional cup holders or maybe floor mats.  Whatever the accessories, they add to the owner’s enjoyment of the vehicle.

Have you ever had a car accident that wasn’t your fault but was due to the other driver not paying attention?   That’s where lawyers like a Tacoma car accident lawyer can help.
We had a minor fender bender one time where the driver behind me let his foot slip off the brake pedal, and he ran into me while we were stopped at a red light.  It was totally his fault!  So even minor accidents can happen sometimes.
