So many people have laptops nowadays that I wonder what the actual numbers are of those who have laptops and those who have desktop computers.  Seems like through the past several years, I am seeing more and more laptops.  They are definitely convenient for traveling and moving around to different locations.  Which type of computer do you prefer…a laptop or a desktop computer?

Aren’t digital cameras great? I remember having to buy film, waiting until all 24 or 36 pictures were taken before getting the film developed, and then having several pictures that weren’t that good and that wasted part of the film. Now it’s so easy to pick out great pictures to print out the same day you take them, and there are options to edit them and cut out background clutter which is a feature I like.  And digital cameras are great for taking pictures of family, especially grandbabies who require a lot of different camera shots sometimes to get a really good picture!

Hope everyone had a really nice Christmas!  We had a wonderful time being with family several different times.   It’s such a special time remembering how much we’ve been blessed and then in turn, blessing other people.   Now, we don’t give gifts like a laptop or an industrial computer, but we try to give something special for each particular person.  (However, several years ago, we did give my mother-in-law a computer.  That was definitely an exception!)  

There are still quite a few people trying to decide what to buy someone for a Christmas present.  Maybe a tv stand for their new TV, a certain item that the person receiving the gift would like to have, or maybe just a small gift to say, “Merry Christmas.”   Whatever the present, it always has been and always will be the thought behind the gift that counts!

I know a lot of people go to chat rooms, do a live chat, or go to Facebook to chat, but I haven’t done much of that except on Facebook.   It’s pretty neat to chat and be able to “talk” to my son, daughter, or a friend.  I mostly send and receive a lot of emails, though, or I might send a message on Facebook and receive one back.  But I can see myself using the chat feature more and more.

Did you know that about one in four computers have lost content due to viruses, blackouts, and hackers?  The best thing is to protect your info, music, photos, and documents with online backup.  That way your files are safe and protected from any of the above disasters.   Most files are hard to replace, if not irreplaceable.   Having online backup is like insurance for your computer.

A lot of people have been getting new TVs recently, and probably a lot are needing mounts for their new televisions.  There are different ways to set up TVs, and so it is a good idea to look online at the different mounts and stands available.  Then after looking at all the possibilities, a person can get exactly the look that they want.

Online master degrees are becoming more popular.  There are quality degrees available that can be done online without leaving home.  Some top ranked schools are hesitant to offer online degrees because they think that the quality of the degree is diminished.   However, Gonzaga University realizes that the opposite is true and offers several quality masters degrees online.  Experienced professionals in the work force who might not be able to get a masters degree otherwise are able to get a quality degree in a time frame that works with their busy schedule.

I like the wide-screen computer monitors that are out these days.  They are so much better than the huge, bulky monitors that most people had ten years ago.  These desktops take up less space and utilize space effeciently.  No longer do you have to have a big desk to accommodate a computer, but with today’s desktop you can have a nice, compact desk if not much space is available.

So many people have ipods today. I don’t have one, but I know a lot of people that do. It’s amazing how many songs they can hold, how they have an audio player, a video player, and a photo viewer.   I saw one ipod that holds 40,000 songs.  (I don’t even know 40,000 songs!  I can’t imagine having that many.)  And they come in posh colors as well as basic black.  How stylish!
