Our son is in his third year of college. Seems impossible that he’s over halfway through college sometimes. I remember all of the years that we checked out video game software for Christmas and birthdays, not that he’s too old for it now. In fact, our son-in-law is twenty-nine and still loves video games. I must admit that even I enjoy them from time to time (but I won’t tell you how old I am). I guess some games will remain ageless!
Have you ever had your website or even your email hacked into? We have, and it causes all sorts of problems. I wish people would live by the golden rule of doing unto others as you would have them do unto you. But unfortunately, that is not the world we live in. There are those out in the world who seek to do havoc to the online community.
A large business in this day and age needs security protection in the form of a signature validation and also flash cookies to keep their business secure. They want to feel confident that their information is safe, and the latest security information is necessary in a technological world that is constantly changing. The integrity of networked systems is crucial when critical data is exposed to possible security threats via persistent malware, and Windows desktops need to be protected from malicious code. Document security is very important to ensure the security of an organization’s network and systems.
As a blogger, I don’t have critical data but I do want my website to be protected. The experience of having someone hack into our host server’s site was irritating to say the least. I’m glad I don’t have the pressure of a large business, but I am thankful that there are security services available to ensure the protection of both big business and the small website developer.
A lot of people are wanting to buy xbox games. What’s so cool about them? Well, Xbox is developed by Microsoft and uses a camera to track the player’s motion through the Kinect Peripheral. It has high definition and better graphics than the Wii, can play DVDs, and you can watch Netflix on it. It recently underwent a price drop, and Dell recently offered free Xbox consoles to students buying laptops. That’s pretty cool! (Thanks to our college-age son for supplying me with the info!)
Many scanners on the market have software that convert a scanned image to a PDF. However, the material that was scanned is not editable. People without optical character recognition (OCR) software cannot edit the files they scan. They have no way of converting pdf to word. This is inefficient because they have to spend extra time retyping and reformatting their information.
.
For many people, it would be very handy to have a program that would convert from pdf to doc in order to make changes on anything they scan and anything they have in a PDF file. Changes might include adding a header where there is none, adding supporting information, editing a photo to make it larger or smaller depending on the needs of the writer, etc. People who are doing research writing or who want to rearrange text or pictures in different places may find this ability to convert PDF to word quite useful.
We definitely live in a technological age. Technology is taught in most schools, even to the youngest of students. Our young grandchildren, ages two and four, know a lot about technological devices for their age. As a teacher, I am fascinated by what a great tool technology is for nearly all students, whether they are gifted or whether they have a learning disability. A great online educational program or software is invaluable! There are also learning communities online which greatly facilitate the learning process for older students. Technology is a must for just about any educational setting!
.
There are other avenues of technology which are extremely useful such as web conferencing. People who take part in a conference such as this are able to interact in a meaningful way and can participate with ease. A lot of corporations and agencies benefit from this type of technology. If they need to, they can find a web conferencing solution such as a host which manages everything, eliminating complicated hardware or software to install. They can even outsource their IT management to another company and still maintain control. This takes a lot of the hassle out of setting up conferencing capability. This type of communication though web conferencing enhances the relationship involved between entities, and is a great for Web meetings, webinars, and even eLearning for online training.
Have you ever done business online with a company and wished they were more efficient and organized, that they had their website constructed for better customer experiences, and that you could get your purchase made quickly? Maybe the company needed customer management software to enhance customer transactions online.
Most people want to simply browse through the choices they are considering, select the one they want, and easily purchase whatever it is they’re looking to buy. If they have to enroll, they want that process to be quick and easy! They don’t want to waste time or feel like they have to jump through hoops to make their purchase.
An efficient company would have a customer acquisition strategy that would provide customer experiences which are captivating but yet practical. I’m sure any company would want to retain their customers and have a loyal customer base, and it seems like they would have a plan to make the customer’s experience online productive and satisfying.
We’re busy getting our son ready to go back to college. This year, he will be living off campus instead of the dorm, so we have been looking for office furniture such as a desk long enough to hold his monitor, laptop, printer/scanner, etc. I don’t know if he needs scanning software or not, but I’m sure he has listed everything he needs on his shopping list. He has a great chair for his desk and a great laptop and monitor, so he’s all set there. He does need a bookcase, though. Once he gets the desk and bookcase, that should complete the major items on the list for his office/study.
I have been blogging for a little over four years now and have learned so much in those years. I have a good content management system right now, but who knows what I’ll need in five years. I must admit it’s great having family members who are tech savvy because they have helped me a lot. But it may not always be convenient time-wise for them to help me in the future, and so a great CMS is something I’m glad to have.
What would be nice to have would be a site search engine to enable me to help visitors to my site find what they’re looking for on their first visit. I feel like so many older posts get buried and most people don’t realize they’re on the site. Seems like it would be efficient to have a complete index of my most relevant posts.
I would really like to have online marketing tools that would integrate data from various sources such as the web, social media, and mobile interactions. I have some info, but it would be so much more effective to have more extensive data and to have it all integrated.

My technology consists of a basic computer set-up. I don’t have a laptop, although I wish I did, nor do I have an Eee Tablet, i Pad, or any of the new technological products that are on the market. Our kids have them, though, and they are fascinating in what all they can do or accomplish. I’m satisfied with what I have, and who knows, maybe someday I will get a laptop and surprise everyone.
