Go to Mr. Jim’s Pizza on Facebook, to “Pizza Offers” at the top and then to “Get My Code.” You will be given a code to write down. Then on April 15th, go to mrjims.com to place an online order. Just type your code in the coupon box. It’s that simple…& it’s FREE! Yay!
This week at Central Market through April 13, 2010, if you buy a container of Organic Baby Spinach for $5.99 with an in-store COUPON then you get mushrooms (regularly $1.99) and Gourmet Baby Cucumbers (regularly $2.79) for free. Since regular spinach usually has a high amount of pesticides on it, I love being able to get a good deal on organic. So using these fresh ingredients plus organic carrots (another veggie usually high in pesticides), broccoli, green olives, and Hormel Natural Turkey slices cut and cooked in EVOO (coupons for Hormel Natural Turkey), we had a delicious meal that was super healthy! Here’s our salad:
If you’ve never eaten at Abuelos, this is a great Mexican food restaurant that our whole family really likes. We don’t eat there very often, but we always enjoy it when we do.
My husband and I went there to celebrate our anniversary, and the great thing is that we had a coupon for “Buy an entree and two drinks and receive a free entree.” I joined Abuelo’s eClub last year and received a coupon like the one mentioned just for joining. The timing wasn’t right so we weren’t able to use the coupon. So what we did this year was to wait to have my husband sign up for their eClub until the week before our anniversary. That way, we were able to use the coupon for joining on our actual anniversary date.
Not only were we able to get a free entree, but we had enough food left over for a meal at home the next day. We both really like their enchiladas. I usually barely eat two enchiladas by the time I’ve eaten a lot of chips and salsa. My husband wanted three enchiladas. So…we each ordered the four enchilada plate which was only $1 more than the three enchilada plate (and remember one plate was free). There was so much food that we only ate half of our refried beans and “Papas Con Chili” (their signature dish of whipped red potatoes, four cheeses, red & green peppers, sour cream, garlic, and jalapeno – yummy!). We both got take-out boxes for our leftovers plus took our refill of chips and salsa that we had barely touched. Like I mentioned, we had enough food for another meal at home. The Frugal Novice would think that this was very frugal!

Ezekiel Bread is the main type of bread we eat at our house. We toast it most of the time when we eat it, even for sandwiches. And one great thing about it, besides the fact that it’s so healthy, is that it has the low glycemic seal for those of you who are concerned about that.
We buy it in the frozen bread section at Central Market or a health food store. It’s a little pricey but worth it for the health benefits. Coupons for Ezekiel Bread can be found here if you’re like me and like to use coupons .
We eat a lot of Cheerios at our house, so I check grocery ads to find them on sale. And if I have a coupon for them, that makes the savings even better. Well, I found this great site where you can get 4 coupons, each worth $1. After entering my name, address, and email on an official Cheerios website, I will be receiving four emails over the next few weeks, each email containing a $1 coupon. That also enters me for a chance to win one of 50,000 boxes of Cheerios that they will be giving away. Sounds good to me!
We use Hellmann’s Light Mayo, and I’m always looking for good coupons for the products we use. If you use Hellmann’s Mayo and would like a coupon, you can get a 75 cent coupon here.
Here’s where you can get a $1 coupon off one box of South Beach Bars. It’s the beginning of a new year and time for many of us who made a New Year’s resolution to lose the weight we gained during the holidays to get serious about what we eat. South Beach Bars are great for this, and in fact, I believe Weight Watchers endorses them. The great thing is that they are high in fiber, containing 9 grams of fiber, yet they don’t taste like it. My favorite is the Oats & Chocolate! What’s your favorite?

Val has a great coupon on her site for $1.25 off a package of Pillsbury Simply Peanut Butter Cookies. My mother-in-law baked a couple of packages of these cookies while we were visiting, and they are so good! The great thing about these cookies is that they have no trans-fat, no high-fructose corn syrup, no preservatives, and no artificial colors or flavorings. They still have calories, though, so I had to remind myself to only eat one or two.
*Remember to use the coupon by the expiration date
Here is where you can get a $1 coupon for “method” cleaning products. Their slogan is “method. creates products for people against dirty.” And the great thing about their products is that they are safe and non-toxic, developed by two former roommates who were exposed to toxic material. Their experience resulted in these non-toxic products. The one product we have tried works great.
These are the locations where you can purchase Method products:
