Someone left a comment about Sale Grab, and I would like to thank you, whoever you are. This is an awesome site with huge discounts (usually 88-91% off) on clothes and some shoes. It tells you the name of the store where the item is located, you type in your zip code, and it tells you the store locations that are closest to you. How cool is that!

Eve has some great gift ideas for families. One thing that she mentions is the Wii. We got one when they first came out, and it is a great game system for the whole family. Young children, kids of all ages, teenagers, parents, and even grandparents can all enjoy this system. There is a wide assortment of games to meet everyone’s interest. In case you don’t know about the Wii, you can hook it up to your TV and everyone can see what’s going on at all times. And the really neat thing is that it brings everybody together in a fun way.

If you have a “toolman” in your life, then you might want to check out E-Tool Now’s selection of air tools, power tools, cordless tools and more. They carry an assortment of Ingersoll Rand air tools. I think of the TV show, Home Improvement, and how “Tim the toolman” would have loved all of these power tools. I can hear him revving up his voice as he talked about power tools. So for your “toolman,” check out these power tools.

Homemade gifts have that special touch to them. Here are a few ideas:

  • One thing that our daughter made for us a few weeks ago was a personalized box frame with pictures of Baby J on all four sides. She got the unfinished box frame at Hobby Lobby, painted it and put captions for each picture and Baby J’s full name on top of the lid. It’s a gift that we treasure.
  • One year, our daughter made homemade soap and gave each person soap in the shape of their initials.
  • A plate full of an assortment of fresh-made homemade cookies. You can get pretty Christmas plates at Dollar Tree, by the way. And if you don’t have time to make all the cookies from scratch, Pillsbury & Toll House refrigerated cookie dough is great for part of the cookies. You can always add a pecan half, a small piece of Christmas candy, or Christmas colored sprinkles on top of the cookies.
  • Meg has some ideas for several homemade things, too. Click here to see more gift ideas.

If you’re looking for a great Christmas gift for the “scientist” at your house, check out Elizabeth’s Discovery Exclusive Tornado Lab. And for the non-scientific students, it would be so much fun that they wouldn’t know they were learning. When I used to teach first grade, we would do a science experiment with a two liter bottle and make our own twisters. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn’t work very well. This would have been so cool to have!

Now that Baby J has arrived, our daughter and son-in-law decided that their extra-high bed was too high with a baby around. So what they did was to store their bed frame and box springs in the garage and get a platform frame on which to put their mattress. That works out perfectly. They are saving their original bed frame and box springs to put in a guest bedroom when they have one in the future. Then all they’ll have to buy is the mattress for the guest bed. It you’re interested in a new bed, then you might check out platform beds .

OpticsPlanet.com is the leading Internet retailer in optics with 200 quality brand names to choose from. They have the biggest selection of optical products including Ray Ban sunglasses, binoculars, telescopes, microscopes, flashlights, golf range finders, and riflescopes, just to name a few. These items make great gifts for relatives. I know my mother-in-law really likes binoculars so she can bird watch, which she does every single day. My husband is interested in telescopes because it’s so awesome looking at the night sky, which we enjoy doing on our back deck from time to time. The great thing about Optics Planet is that they offer free ground shipping on orders of $29.95 or more and back all of their products with a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
