I read a post this week entitled, “Why Ruching Rocks.”   I didn’t know what ”ruching” was.  So after doing a little research, I found that ruching is a French word and is an ancient sewing technique.  Cindy at Quilters Fancy has dated it as far back as the Middle Ages.  According to MSN Encarta, ruching is a decorative fabric edging such as decorative edges of gathered, pleated, or frilled fabric.  Or it could be decorative ribbon.   It can help to conceal flaws in figures such as love handles.  A lot of places have clothes with ruching.  Even Target has a long-sleeved Tee with it.   To read more, go to “Why Ruching Rocks” at the link below.

Filed Under (Fighting Fibromyalgia) by Charla

When one of my friends told me a year and a half ago that she has fibromyalgia, I said, “Fibro-what?” I had never heard of it. And to my surprise when my dog tripped me and caused me to fall a few months later, fibromyalgia set in with a vengeance. At it’s worst, it’s awful to deal with! We researched and read a lot and discovered that I had been having mild symptoms starting several years ago. So now we know what we’re dealing with and through the course of the past year have been blessed to find things that really help me. I plan to share some of these things through other posts. And if you happen to have fibromyalgia, I sympathize with you.

Our first grandbaby, a grandson, arrived this past Wednesday.  He is so adorable and so precious.  Anyone who’s been around a newborn baby knows how precious they are.   It’s amazing how a whole room full of people (even four men) can sit or stand around in a hospital room and be totally fascinated and entertained by watching a tiny newborn .  Well…he wasn’t exactly tiny…he weighed 8 pounds and was 20 inches long.  But in comparison to everyone else in the room, he was tiny.  And it was the sweetest thing when he put his tiny little fingers around one of my fingers, or when he made those sweet little sounds that only newborns make, or when he finally opened his eyes and looked at me!   We thank God for this sweet little bundle of joy.  What a blessing in the lives of all of us in that hospital room!
