If you have a recipe that calls for buttermilk and you don’t have any, there are two things you could do. You could either add one tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice to one cup of milk and let it stand for five minutes before adding to your recipe, or you could use one cup of plain yogurt. I’m glad to know that because I’m not a big buttermilk fan and rarely have it in the frig!

Migraine Headaches

There are a lot of people who have migraine headaches. I have a friend who has them, and sometimes when she has one of her bad headaches she has to go to bed. I’ve never had a migraine myself, but I know it’s enough when I have a regular headache. I don’t have them very often, and it usually just lasts one day if I do have one.  But when my friend has one of her bad migraines, it might last for several days. She has to go to bed for part of that time and might even have to miss work. I feel for people who have headaches like that!

Evenflo Recalls 1 Million Car Seats

On Feb. 1, Evenflo recalled one million Discovery infant car seats, specifically the Discovery Infant Car Seat Models 390, 391, 534 and 552, made between April 2005 and Jan. 29, 2008. This was a voluntary safety recall, and they said it’s not necessary for owners of the car seats to stop using them or return them. Instead, they are offering a free supplemental dual-hook fastener to make sure that the seat remains attached in high-impact side collisions. Spring Storms

This is the time of year when spring storms are just around the corner. I remember a bad storm that hit here one February. We had ferocious winds that blew two of our huge trees over onto our house. Green…the Trend for Spring Wardrobes

I just read Meg’s post that the “in color” for spring is going to be green, followed by orange for a close second. So the spring trends are seeing green. And any color of green will work. It doesn’t have to be a specific shade.  I know I have a couple of green T-shirts (one cute lime green one that I bought after Christmas for 75% off), a long-sleeved lime green mock turtleneck top, and a sea green outfit that “C” gave me that I didn’t wear last spring.  I’m not sure why because I often get a compliment on the color of it.  I need to go look and see what else I have hanging in my closet.  🙂
