A few years ago, I worked part-time at an optometrist’s office. My job involved greeting people, finding out what they needed and having them fill out paperwork. I would take payments and print out receipts on a receipt printer, possibly something like the Epson TM-T88V, checked on people’s insurance, sent faxes, and several other things.
Filling out the optical form after the doctor did an examination was challenging because it was like another language with all the technical words and abbreviations. Then there teaching people the correct way to put contact lenses in and take them out. I never had contact lenses, so I had to imagine what it was like in order to correctly give information to people. It was an interesting short-term job which gave me insight into an optometrist’s job.
