The Dinner For Two Project was inspired by the blogger’s mom – it is about “exploring and exploiting the fulfilling potential of food and easy entertaining within intimate relationships to enhance and strengthen those ties by creating special shared experiences.” There are a lot of great recipes you could make with someone you care about to enhance your relationship.

Jen at Born 2 Impress is mom to a little girl, and runs an Etsy store where she sells handmade baby accessories like knit hats adorned with flowers. She hosts tons of giveaways – and be sure and check out her special events, including the Mommy & Me Born 2 Impress event that ends next week and the Everything Home event that starts in September!

Having Your Own Business

When you have your own business, you have to think of everything from advertising to exit signs.  There are the regular monthly expenses such as rent, utilities, and insurance, of course, but then there are all the little details that can add up.

When we had our business years ago, we needed display cases and were fortunate enough to get them from a jewelry store going out of business.  But then we also needed a cash register which we had to buy new, so that was a considerable expense.

If you are thinking of starting your own business, do some brainstorming.  I would suggest making a comprehensive list of everything you will need.  Then check around for the best prices!

Find the Right Insurance for You

Health Insurance has changed so much during the past few years.  I remember going to the doctor ten years ago and just paying my co-pay.  Insurance covered pretty much everything else.  That doesn’t happen nowadays.  It’s a good idea to check around with several insurance companies such as Blue Advantage and others, compare rates and coverages, and then try to make an educated guess which insurance is right for you.

Laptop Warranties and Insurance

A blogger friend of mine has had a lot of trouble with her laptop which she purchased at a well-known retailer.  She’s so glad she took out warranty insurance when she bought it because that has covered all of the repair costs.  I guess for those getting a laptop, taking out a warranty or getting some laptop insurance is something to at least consider.  You never know when the same thing might happen that happened to my friend.

Schools & Seminars

School is getting closer and closer, and many schools will be starting next week.  Kids are anticipating that first day of school, and some have already started.  Some adults are going back to school, too, or maybe taking some extra classes or seminars like Forex training seminars or whatever they need in order to improve that area of their life.  People of all ages will be in learning mode!

Laptops

One of my dreams is to someday get a laptop.  Now don’t get me wrong, I’m very thankful to have my own computer which works fairly well for being an older computer.  I don’t have to use my husband’s or borrow our son’s when he’s at home.  But still, I would really like to have a laptop!   When the time comes that I’m ready to look for one, I’ll probably check into wholesale laptops and other places where I could get a good deal.  But I can’t foresee that being anytime soon.

Digital Camcorders

I remember when we bought our first camcorder ages ago when our son was a baby.  It was a big, bulky thing which was very tiring to hold up for an extended period of time.  Then we eventually got a “smaller” one which would still be big by today’s standards.  Several years ago, we finally bought one that is small and easy to hold.  If you look at current digital camcorder reviews, however, they have even smaller camcorders that don’t require tapes.  We’re not that up-to-date technologically speaking, but I’m satisfied with what we have!

Laura at Along for the Ride started blogging to keep in touch with her family, but now she also uses it to share her faith, share about all the crafts she makes, and share about her job as a hall coordinator at a large university.  She and her husband have been married for about a year, and they actually live in the residence hall on campus with their kitty.  Her blog is about being along for the ride…the ride that God has planned for her!

Melissa at Mommy Living the Life of Riley! is a SAHM and devoted wife who loves writing about her journey through motherhood.  She writes about such things as the “potty training saga” going on at their house right now with their daughter, Riley.  Melissa has a lot of great giveaways, product reviews, and info such as how to clean up your blog graphics so that your blog loads faster and you get more search engine links.

Having grown up in Canada, Heather at Acting Balanced is a SAHM now living in South Carolina with her husband and two children.  Their family of four, however, will soon be five in November.  Heather shares about their son with autism and how tough it is to be the parent of a child with a disability that can’t be identified by sight.  Her blog features not only their family but also book reviews, giveaways, contests, and product reviews.
