There is so much to do this week at work! I’m glad I don’t need to go buy projector bulbs for any of our electronics at home or do any major shopping. Groceries are stocked for the week except for orange juice and milk. That’s something my husband will pick up tomorrow sometime, whenever it works into his schedule. I’ve done my laundry so I’m ready for this week!
There are many ads in the mail and newspapers plus lots of ads on the radio and TV for a mattress for sale, toys for sale, appliances for sale, etc. Christmas time has gotten way too commercialized! There is so much commercialism that it takes away from the true meaning of Christmas. People get caught up in the hectic pace this time of year, and some can’t fully enjoy the special times with family and friends because they are exhausted. Hmmm…seems like if we prioritized and focused on what is really important then people could fully enjoy this time of year.
How’s your Christmas shopping going? I still have some more left to do! Finding time to shop is the problem, or maybe finding the energy sometimes. What’s left on your list of gifts to get? Maybe an ipod nano or something else that’s popular? I hope to finish all my shopping soon, hopefully by the end of the week. Hope you’re nearly finished with your shopping, too!
This has been a very busy week! Seems like it’s been busy for nearly everyone I know, and we’re all anticipating the holidays. I made a couple of quick trips to the store during the week to get what we needed such as basic groceries, not anything like epiduo or anything else that was not something we needed soon. Time was a factor, so quick and easy errands were all I had time for.
We’ve had some really beautiful, sunny days here in north central Texas recently. For a while there, we were having lots of rain. We had so much rain that some people may have thought about getting a dehumidifier. But that didn’t last too long, and now we’re just soaking up the sun and enjoying the beautiful fall weather! This week and next week are forecast to be nice!
There are a lot of people who are having a hard time right now. Maybe they are out of work and are wondering how they’re going to feed their children. We know of several during the past year or so who have gone into work to a job they’ve had a long time, only to find out they no longer had a job. And think of those down on the coast who might need an offshore injury lawyer. There are also those who are grieving the loss of a loved one and those who are separated from their loved one who is in the military.
As we go about our daily life and encounter people, we don’t know what they’re going through. A smile, a kind word, a thoughtful gesture or a random act of kindness might make a difference in their day. We never know how some little thing we do might help someone having a hard day!
Let me start by saying that I love good homemade cookies! The past few weeks, I have been substitute teaching just about every day. One thing I like about where I’m subbing now is that the cafeteria ladies make homemade cookies for the teachers several days a week. That is one thing that’s really hard for me to pass up…a delicious homemade cookie! I haven’t gained weight that I know of so far, so I won’t need to check out www.fatburnerreview.org. But I may need to start exercising more if I eat one (notice I just eat one) cookie three days a week or so!
I’ve also really enjoyed subbing the past couple of months because I’ve been primarily working with special ed students. When I first began teaching many years ago, I taught for six years in special ed before I taught first grade for eleven years and a first/second bridge class for two years. I would love to get back into teaching special ed. And it’s not just so I can have a homemade cookie every day. (smile)
Note: These are not cookies from school. These were from Central Market where we bought 1/2 dozen Ginger Snaps.
