With the Super Bowl just days away, many people are in high gear getting ready for Super Bowl parties. I saw a picture on Facebook that was amazing. A lady made her sandwich platter look like a three-dimensional football stadium, complete with people in the stands. She used sandwiches, cheese slices, meat slices, olives, pickles, etc., to form an unbelievable creation. Some people might even get personalized galvanized beverage tubs if they’re having quite a few people at their party. That makes it easy to ice-down cokes/sodas/soft drinks (when we say, “Let’s go get a coke,” it could mean any soft drink). It’s fun seeing all the creative party ideas!

Taking Care of Business Online
My view of online transactions has changed a whole lot from what it was ten years ago. I was skeptical about doing anything dealing with finances online. Now my views are completely different! I really like how convenient it is to make electronic payments, order gifts online, and even order vitamins online. It’s such a time saver and the safeguards that are in place have taken away my skepticism.
Heated Swimming Pools
It’s cold here today, and swimming is the last thing I want to do right now. However, if the pool had an electric pool heater then that would be nice, but I still wouldn’t go swimming unless it was an indoor pool. When I was in high school, though, it was a different story. There was an outdoor heated pool where my friends and I went swimming one time when the temperature was in the 30’s. It was nice as long as we were in the pool, but it was freezing when we got out! I guess that experience is why I would only want to swim in an indoor pool.
From Our Family to You:
Video Games
Our son is in his third year of college. Seems impossible that he’s over halfway through college sometimes. I remember all of the years that we checked out video game software for Christmas and birthdays, not that he’s too old for it now. In fact, our son-in-law is twenty-nine and still loves video games. I must admit that even I enjoy them from time to time (but I won’t tell you how old I am). I guess some games will remain ageless!
Christmas Song: “Here With Us” by Joy Williams
I loved this Christmas song the first time I heard it, and it’s still one of my very favorites. It warms my heart and reminds me that just as Jesus was born and lived on earth for 33 years, He’s still alive and with us today and leaves his spirit for his faithful followers! Jesus is “Here With Us” by Joy Williams.

Checking My List
December is here, and it’s time to get in high gear getting ready for Christmas. I have plenty of wrapping paper that we got after Christmas at Target one year , so we’re doing fine in that department. Now, I just need to check and make sure we have tape, utility knives, scissors, and packing tape for any packages that need to be mailed. We have just about everything on our gifts-to-buy list. I still need to find several gifts for the people I work with and some friends, but we already have gifts for family, gifts for my students at school, for the two tutoring students, etc. I keep checking my list, though, to make sure I haven’t forgotten anybody or anything.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Energy Service Companies
There are a lot of companies out there competing to be our electric servers. There are several in Texas, Pennsylvania has pennsylvania energy and other companies, etc. Each state has their own list of providers. We have been with the same company for many years and believe they have the best to offer. It’s important to check out a company thoroughly, read the fine print, and look for reviews on that particular company before you sign a contract.
I’m Thankful to Live in America!
“Tom Hanks narrates the epic story of the 9/11 boatlift that evacuated half a million people from the stricken piers and seawalls of Lower Manhattan” in this short video. It’s very heartwarming and well worth the time to watch it!

This week, many people will be thinking of all the many things they have to be thankful for. Today, I want to share this blessing: I’m thankful to live in a country where people care about others and will even put their lives in danger to help other people. This is the kind of love that God has for us. Jesus knew that his life wasn’t just in danger but that He would lose his life for us. What great love!

Looking for Jobs
There are so many people looking for work nowadays. Quality Assurance Director Jobs are available in many areas, but a person would have to research and see what qualifications are necessary. It definitely would be worth checking into if someone needed a job and felt they might qualify. Some colleges have jobs posted for their graduates, and that’s a good place for college students to check. Just driving around and looking for new businesses being built, checking the local classified ads, and talking to people and networking are all good ways to search for a job.
