Safe Driving

Did you know that there are cutting edge, safe driving systems that have been created with an emphasize on safe driving behavior and creative technology?   One patented system monitors drivers and “mentors” them so they can learn to reduce speeding and aggressive driving.   It also monitors seat belt habits to encourage drivers to always wear their seat belt so they will be in compliance with the law.

Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) is the safety program used by FMCSA to encourage safer driving by large trucks and buses.  It focuses on seven major behaviors that cause crashes.  CSA 2010 is such a program.  Being a solution oriented global leader, inthinc is devoted to improving safer driving behaviors with programs such as this.

Teenagers just learning to drive are a major concern for many parents.  It’s not that their teen is a bad driver but rather an inexperienced driver when it comes to handling a vehicle on a busy road.  There are all types of factors such as distracted driving that can cause accidents, and inthinc is committed to helping reduce those accidents.

Creative Multimedia Software

Our daughter works with Multimedia Software at her new job. She is so creatively gifted, and enjoys being able to use her creative talents where she works. Several years ago, while she was in college, we purchased Photoshop for her computer since it was very useful for her major. Nowadays, she uses some type of Digital Picture Editor for her graphic artist’s responsibilities in her new position as a multimedia producer.

It’s amazing to me what all can be done and created online using the software that’s available today. With an image editing program, a person can be as creative as they want to be, in designing and implementing whatever they have envisioned for their project.  And with the emphasis on technology in today’s world, it’s important to have the technological tools needed to accomplish set goals. Having the right software can make all the difference in meeting those goals in a creative way.

Shopping for Clothes

Now that I’m teaching full time, there is not the time nor do I have the energy for much shopping.  My husband helps with the grocery shopping and that helps a lot!  I did manage to squeeze in an hour of shopping recently so I could use a gift card that I received for Christmas.  It was fun shopping for a short time.  I didn’t look for women’s singlets but looked for pants and jeans.

One thing that I don’t like about shopping anymore is the part where I have to try on clothes and then go get a different size. I must have tried on a dozen pair of khaki pants and jeans before I finally found a pair of jeans that fit the way I want them to, and so I got those. There are some khaki pants that I might get in the future. But I don’t want to try on clothes at the store anytime soon. How about you?

Investments

There are many ways people invest nowadays from the stock market to other different types of investments.  I’ve heard several commercials about gold being a good investment, and I’ve seen where you can buy gold online.  Whenever it comes to investing, I want something that’s not risky and a sound investment.  Nothing is 100% for sure since no one knows what will happen in the economy or world events, though, but there are some investments that are more stable than others.  Those are the kind I like!

Times Have Changed

At work recently, a couple of us “older” teachers were talking to several younger teachers sitting with us while eating pizza before an evening activity.  We were telling them how we didn’t have computers, printers, scanner software, etc., when we were in high school and how we used typewriters.  I asked if any of them knew what “correction tape” was.  To my surprise, a couple of them did know!

Minnesota New Homes

For those living in Minnesota or those who are moving there, they might be interested in a Minneapolis new home.  This area is thriving with business, culture, and sports.  Their parks and recreation is highly rated.  In fact, the Twin Cities are ranked as the nation’s sixth best city for runners, plus there are five golf courses located within the city. Four of the hospitals in Minneapolis are ranked among the best in America by U.S. News and World Report.  This city definitely has a lot to offer.

For those wishing to live in a rural residential area but not far from the Twin Cities, a Minnetrista new home might be to their liking.  It’s located on Lake Minnetonka, has many parks, and is a charming town.  Stillwater, twenty miles east of downtown St. Paul, is a family oriented community.  A Stillwater new home offers a safe environment with excellent schools, yet not too far from the conveniences of the Twin Cities.  Both of these towns offer the conveniences of small town living as well as the conveniences of a close-by metropolitan area.

Small Businesses

There are a lot of small business owners in today’s market.  It takes a certain amount of money to start up a new business which might result in owners needing a small business loan.  Lendio is a company that does just that.  They match small business owners with banks and lenders where they can take out a small loan.  Lendio is on Facebook, and you can also follow Lendio on Twitter if you want to check them out.

We know firsthand how much it takes to start up a new business because we had our own business back in the eighties.  There were basic expenses such as rent, utilities, and insurance.  Then there were extra expenses for advertising in the yellow pages and other forms of advertising.  We needed a cash register, free-standing counters, blinds for the windows, and seating for customers who were waiting.  Plus, we bought our very first computer back then.  As you can see, there are a lot of expenses for small business owners.
