Do you remember years ago when items in the store had price stickers on them? The clerk at the check-out counter had to find the price sticker on each item and ring it up on the cash register. Sometimes that took forever. Now, POSGuys makes check-out so much easier and faster. Gone are the days of price stickers and even worse, getting to the check-out counter with an item that had lost its price sticker.
This month has gone by so fast! Just a couple more days and then November will be here. Starting around Thanksgiving until after New Year’s is the time when all the tempting goodies and desserts start appearing. Some people rely on weight loss pills to help them lose the weight they gain during the holidays, but my goal is to stay at an even weight and not gain more than a pound or two at the most. So, we’ll see!
Do you order much online? In the past, I didn’t because I preferred to buy it in a store. I felt it would be easier to return if I needed to do that. But now, I’m ordering vitamins and supplements online which saves us a lot of money. The orders usually arrive in a week and are so well packaged that a box cutter would come in handy to make it easier to open the box. I imagine I’ll be ordering more things online in the future, especially when I can save money!
We had our own business back in the mid to late 80’s. From that experience, I know there’s a lot that goes into having one’s own business. Today, some people have business plan consultants to help them and also other professionals. It is wise to plan and do some market research before launching a business, especially in today’s economy. I think the more that’s done, the higher the chance of having a successful business.
Have you been in heavy traffic during rush hour in a big city? It is crazy driving in traffic like that. I’m concerned about the motorcyclists who are driving between big trucks. In fact, I’ve read that it’s really not as safe to travel between them in case of an accident. There are some days when I’m hungrier than others, and today was one of those days. It’s just taken more to fill me up. I still try to eat healthy when I eat more, and if I have a dessert then I have a very small serving. Even though I’m pretty much at my ideal weight, I still have belly fat and probably always will. There’s something about having had a couple of babies in the past that changes things.
I know a lot of people go to chat rooms, do a live chat, or go to Facebook to chat, but I haven’t done much of that except on Facebook. It’s pretty neat to chat and be able to “talk” to my son, daughter, or a friend. I mostly send and receive a lot of emails, though, or I might send a message on Facebook and receive one back. But I can see myself using the chat feature more and more.
I have been doing substitute teaching the past few weeks. Without even trying, I lost four pounds. I don’t need fat burners. There’s something about being on my feet several hours during the day, being busy teaching or helping students, plus having a short lunch break and eating less, that causes me to lose weight. When I used to be a teacher full-time, it was common for me to lose five to ten pounds during the first six weeks of school because the first few weeks are extremely busy.
Insurance is the topic of a lot of people’s conversations these days.
