Spotlight on Friendly Friday Followers!
We love your participation and want to show it! In addition to gaining followers, each week we’ll select three blogs at random and will feature links and a write-up for those blogs in the content of next week’s Friendly Friday post. There are so many seriously wonderful blogs out there, and this will be a great way to highlight some of those each week. Say hello to the lucky chosen 3 for this week (and feel free to stop by and give them a little extra love):

If you visit Moogie & Pap on an empty stomach, you may end up making an impromptu trip to the grocery store! Joann (aka Moogie) painted murals and designed landscapes professionally for years, and now enjoys baking for her blog. Filled with creative and mouth-watering recipes plus really beautiful photos, this blog is a delight to the senses. From Cloud Souffle (how could that not be something good?) to “Magically Delicious Marshmallow Crunch Brownie Bars”, there are a ton of new recipes for you to try!
Really in the mood for a party? Nicole at 2 Savvy Sisters has a boatload of ideas to inspire your next soiree – there are ideas for themes, including great decor and invitation examples. Nicole also runs an Etsy shop with the same name, where she sells home decor and party items. She describes herself as loving all things crafty, party, and paper-related. She’s a part-time instructor for the University of Phoenix, and a mom to two adorable little boys, too – but still manages to find time to make her custom creations!
Adventures of Wee Mason Man is the story of two newbie parents, two dogs, two cats, and one little boy. Frankly and humorously written, it’s a blog filled with absolutely adorable photos of their little boy, Mason. Need something to make you smile? Just take one look at him and it’ll brighten your day! The first post of this blog is their ultrasound photos, so it really does chronicle Mason from the very start!
Now that you know about these 3 wonderful blogs, it’s time for you to join in! Add your link below and we’ll see you back here every Friday! And don’t forget, you can grab the code to share the link list on your blog too.
Easy Chocolate Pie
- 1 graham cracker pie crust
- Chocolate pudding mix
- Milk (amount listed in pudding mix directions)
- Chocolate candy bar or chocolate chips (I used dark chocolate chips)
- Strawberries
- Whipped Cream
DIRECTIONS:
Mix the pudding according to directions and pour into pie crust. Cut up chocolate into small chunks and scatter across the top of the pie. Wash strawberries thoroughly and completely (remember strawberries are in the top 10 for high amounts of pesticides), cut in half, and decorate the top of the pie with them. Add whipped cream. Enjoy!
Note: I made this for my husband for Father’s Day. So very simple, but he was impressed and loved it!
Summer Reading
Have you read any good books or stories this summer? It’s been so busy that I really haven’t done much reading. I haven’t read any novels, biographies or weight loss success stories. There always seems to be something else that needs doing or blogging that needs to be done. Let me know if you’ve read any good books or stories recently.
Natural Foods
Recently, I read an article about foods that burn fat. I’ve read different articles about these natural foods before and believe there is some truth to this. The lists consist of common foods and herbs with one exception, seaweed. Looking at one list, I have two out of ten on a daily basis such as the green tea and essential fatty acids. Then there are two or three more that I have several times a week such as the berries, apples, and garlic. I do take Kelp two or three times a week which is brown seaweed. As for the spices, I tend to have those more in fall and winter. So for me, how many of these natural foods on the list I eat varies from week to week and also season to season.
Appetite
Do you ever notice that when the weather gets really hot then you’re not as hungry as you are during cold weather? Seems like I notice that my appetite is not the same during really hot weather, and I guess it’s like having natural appetite suppressants. Large meals are not as appealing and lighter meals tend to be more agreeable when the temperature gets high.
Back to School Clothes
I’ve heard the saying that summer is halfway over once we celebrate the Fourth of July. Seems like the rest of summer flies by after that! Then it’s time to start thinking about back to school clothes such as jeans,T-shirts, shoes, brands of clothes that I’m not even familiar with such as apple bottoms, and whatever kids wear to school nowadays. There should start being some good sales on back to school clothes by then.
Le Creuset & Rachael Ray Bakeware
Did you know that if you enter my giveaway for CSN’s $60 gift certificate then you could use it for bakeware? Or you can use it for anything else you want from any of their 200+ stores.
Here are some examples of things I found in bakeware from Le Creuset and Rachael Ray:

Menu Plan Monday 7-12-10
Just to let you know, we did go to Chick-Fil-A on Friday dressed partly like cows (ears and a sign on the front of our shirts downloaded from their site). We were expecting to get just our entree free, but they gave all three of us complete meals for free. I must admit that it was fun watching all the other people (adults, several college students – one of them was our son, as well as little kids) dressed up as cows to some extent. Some were very creative. And I must admit, too, that we didn’t put on our ears and signs until we peeked inside to make sure other people were dressed like cows!
OK, enough of cow attire. On to our menu for this week:
MONDAY: Chicken Pasta with Ragu Sauce (I found it on sale for 99 cents a jar and bought several), fried zucchini, and homemade garlic bread
TUESDAY: Chicken Alfredo with Broccoli and salad (simple recipe but a favorite of my husband and our son)
WEDNESDAY: Chicken Tortilla Soup (we didn’t have it last week after all)
THURSDAY: Salmon Patties (a favorite of my husband) and frozen veggies (that sounds funny…I should say “frozen veggies that have been cooked”)
FRIDAY: Use this really great coupon I have and eat out somewhere!!
Note: Please bear with “Link Within” below. I just installed it, and the posts suggested below aren’t necessarily corresponding with the main post. Some of them seem really random!

Fashionable Walking Canes
Do you have a family member that has a little trouble walking or they aren’t steady on their feet all the time? Do they make you nervous because you’re afraid they might fall? A walking cane would be a great solution to help steady them. It would give some added stability when walking in an area crowded with people such as at church or maybe at a family get-together. And it would help give them confidence being out away from home.
1001 Walking Canes.com has many styles of walking canes available, including fashionable designer canes. Some people make a fashion statement with their canes or decorative walking sticks which come in different colors, designs and unique shapes to fit any fashion. The Tuxedo Walking Stick, for example, would be perfect for a wedding or special occasion. Metallic Walking Canes are also classy looking. There is something to suit anyone’s style of walking cane.
They also have canes available for women in a shorter length, lighter weight and a more feminine design. These canes come in stylish colors and designs to go with any outfit or suit any occasion.
Not only are walking canes great for stability or making a fashion statement, but they are also excellent for hikers. These canes are available with a wrist strap, and the handle can be a straight grip or have the typical cane handle.
1001 Walking Canes.com is a family owned business which strives for excellent customer service. They ship right away and stand behind their products 100%.
