There is a lot of information and there are a lot of reviews available online for all sorts of things such as diet pill reviews. Just about anything you would want to know about anything is somewhere online. Being able to do searches online for topics of interest or concern is wonderful. One of the main types of information I like being able to access is recipes. I find there are several variations of recipes to choose from for the same dish. And there are helpful reviews on those recipes, too. The reviews are great!

Musical Doorbells and Ringtones
When I was growing up, if the doorbell rang then it was a typical, standard doorbell sound. The same with our phone. If the phone rang then it was the typical, standard ring. Today, however, people don’t have the typical sounds anymore. In fact, the old sounds that I grew up with are considered “retro” and are popular with some people. Many people, however, like musical notification that someone is at the door or that their phone is ringing. There’s not a “typical” doorbell or ringtone sound in today’s world.
Credit Card Processing
Seems like just about every business offers credit card processing in this day and age. It’s rare to find one that doesn’t. One business comes to mind, though, and that is Dollar Tree. It’s cash or check there. They are definitely in the small minority when it comes to not offering customers credit card services. They seem to be doing OK business-wise, so I guess customers are fine with not being able to use credit cards there.
Colon Cleanse Reviews
Does a colon cleanse actually help people lose weight? I have seen a lot of ads online, in magazines, etc., about how it does help by detoxifying the body. As far as reading much about it, I haven’t and I guess I need to read some colon cleanse reviews to find out more information.
I do know that toxins build up in the body, toxins that are found in the environment and in the foods we eat. Sugar and processed white flour are probably at the top of the list of foods. Sugar is definitely not healthy for us in any form or way. I once read that sugar acts like a glue in the body. If you think about times when you’ve spilled a drink with sugar in it, it leaves the floor sticky and hard to clean up. Just think of what it does in our body! I really don’t like to think about that. It makes me want to limit my intake of sugar, which I do. I use a lot of Stevia, but there are some things that contain sugar and would not taste good without it. The main thing I can think of is dark chocolate. I can easily give up Cokes and sodas and drink only tea, green tea, and water. That’s easy! But giving up dark chocolate is another story. So, I guess it would be a good thing to read more about colon cleansing.
Four Foods On Friday 108
Val says, “Hi all! Sorry I’m late this week, I was sick all day yesterday. With that in mind, I offer this week’s questions.”
1. Are there any drinks you feel help you get better when you’re sick?
Depends on what kind of sick. Congestion & upper respiratory flu – hot green tea and regular tea, sometimes hot chocolate.
Stomach flu – Coke, Sprite, 7-Up
2. Are there any foods you feel help you get better when you’re sick?
Healthy foods, good homemade soups. If it’s stomach flu, then nothing!
3. Starve a cold, feed a fever. Do you believe this?
No, and actually I’ve read that if you feel like eating, it’s good to eat to nourish the body. (healthy foods, of course) Now if it’s the stomach flu, that’s a different story. A person needs to go without eating for 24 hours to kill out the virus. Nibbling on saltine crackers after 12 hours usually won’t hurt. Eating other food, though, just prolongs it because it feeds the virus.
4. Who cooks when you’re sick?
My husband might cook a meal, but usually he will bring something in. Actually, I was sick with bronchitis a week ago, and he made homemade soup for us. I sat and gave him step-by-step directions on how to make it. He did a good job, and it tasted really good to me.
Relief for Hemroids
Many women have noticed that when they are pregnant, they experience all sorts of things they have not experienced otherwise. It’s not just the food cravings and the emotional sensitivity. It’s also things like spider veins on their legs or maybe hemorrhoids. The latter one, the hemroids, can be very uncomfortable and painful and make one think, “I need relief and fast!” Of course, it’s not just pregnant women who experience this unpleasant condition, but they are definitely prone to this happening with all the extra weight they are carrying.
Hemroids, or hemorrhoids as the medical field calls them, are caused by inflammation and swelling of veins that can be external or internal. It is a very common condition that affects millions of people, mostly people over age 50. And, as I mentioned, pregnant women can be prone to hemorrhoids.
So, pregnant women are definitely susceptible to getting these painful and annoying hemorrhoids. Some get them during childbirth during the second stage of labor. What are some things that help? One tip is that cold ice packs applied several times a day can help ease the symptoms. Some use witch hazel to help soothe the affected area. Another tip is to use white, unscented toilet paper. Whatever the cause of the hemorrhoids, women should always consult their doctor first before using any medication.
Varicose Veins Treatment
Have you ever noticed tiny little veins on your legs that seem to grow a little more visible every year? When I had our second baby, I was in my 30’s. During my pregnancy, probably during the latter part of the second trimester, I noticed slight spider veins in my left leg. It made sense due to the way I was carrying the baby. I just supposed that after I had the baby then the spider veins would go away. Well, they didn’t. Not only did they not go away, they’ve gotten worse through the years.
My grandmother had varicose veins, and I wondered if they were inherited. I did a little bit of research, and sure enough I found out they tend to be inherited and they get worse with age. And pregnancy can contribute to their development. My research confirmed what I thought and matched with what I had experienced.
It would be nice to try a varicose veins treatment, especially one that has an unconditional money back guarantee. I’ve read it might take several weeks for varicose veins to diminish, so it would be good to start the treatment before the warm months of spring when it’s nice to wear capris and flip flops.
Crock Pot Chicken & Stuffing
My mother-in-law made this (I took pictures as she was making it), and we thought it was delicious. The great thing about this is you can put all the ingredients in the slow cooker, leave the house to go shopping, and then come back home in three hours to a delicious meal. Just add a salad and/or veggie.

INGREDIENTS:
* 1 to 1 1/2 pounds cooked chicken or turkey, cut into bite-size pieces (or use canned chicken or turkey, rotisserie chicken, or cook chicken tenders – what we did)
* 1 6-ounce package Stove Top
* 1 large onion, chopped
* 1 cup chopped celery
* 3 eggs, beaten
* 1 can reduced fat cream of mushroom soup
* 2 cups reduced sodium chicken broth
* 1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons poultry seasoning (or mix of parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme)
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/4 teaspoon pepper
* 2 tablespoons butter cut into small chunks (I want to try using EVOO)
.
Grease a 3 1/2 quart or larger slow cooker. Combine all of the ingredients, except for the butter, and mix gently. Using a cup, place mixture into crock pot. Place the butter chunks onto of mixture. Cover and cook on high for 3 hours. Do not remove lid while cooking. Serves 6-8.
Warts Treatment
Have any of you had to deal with warts and wished you had smooth skin? I had four warts in my younger years. When I was a child, I had one on my lower knee and never knew what caused it to appear. Now I know that a virus caused it and that warts are common in children. I had it for several years and it was so long ago that I don’t remember how I got rid of it.
My second wart was a small one on my face, close to my eye. As a teenager, I finally got tired of looking at it every time I put on make-up, and my mother had the doctor take it off. I was really nervous about the process since it was close to my eye. The third wart was on my finger, and again, my mother took me to the doctor to have it taken off which again made me nervous. The fourth one was a plantar wart on the bottom of my foot, and it was the most painful one. It had to be cut out and just the thought of someone cutting 1/4 inch into my skin made me nervous.
Today there is a warts treatment available with 100% satisfaction guaranteed. It can be used on children as young as five years old. One important fact to remember is that warts can be contagious, and just a small cut can make the skin more susceptible to warts.
Persistence in Job Hunting
A lot of people are looking for jobs nowadays. Maybe they’re looking for jobs in finance, education, industry, or some other field. One important thing is persistence; they shouldn’t give up trying and should put out resumes in as many different places that they can. Personal contacts are great, so if they know someone they can give the resume to personally, that is very helpful.
Covers for Throw Pillows
If you’re wanting new throw pillows but don’t want to spend the money to buy new ones, then you might consider buying square pillow covers. I found some really nice red pillow covers on sale for half price at Pottery Barn a while back. They have a full zipper on one edge, making it easy to put them on the pillow. It’s easy to find them online, too. Just make sure you measure the pillow first.
Lists
I am such a “list” person with my daily “to do” lists. And making out a grocery list is something I do weekly. I always look at the grocery ads for products I use that are super bargains (“loss leaders”) at each store and add those items to my list. There are certain staples that I put on my list when we start getting low on them such as Ezekiel Bread and Central Market’s Organic Frozen Corn. I don’t buy diet pills, but I do order vitamins and supplements online which means a whole different list. Having lists helps me stay organized, be more efficient (I still have plenty of room for improvement), and save money.
