It used to bother me a few years ago when I would look in the mirror and see new wrinkles, and so I would use wrinkle eye creams and facial moisturizers. Although I still use those things, it doesn’t bother me near as much when I see new wrinkles. That’s just a part of me now, of who I am. I know people who have wrinkles, yet they have such a beautiful and caring spirit that I don’t pay much attention to the wrinkles. I focus on what’s in their heart that shines through in a beautiful way!

Weddings @ The Mansion at Elfindale in Springfield, Missouri
………. <PART ONE ……. PART TWO…….PART THREE >
The Mansion at Elfindale is such a beautiful bed and breakfast in Springfield. There are also wedding services available in their chapel and reception area as well. While we were standing on one of the covered porches at the Mansion, we could look across and see the chapel which is connected to the Mansion by a brick covered walkway.
Once inside, we were surprised with the beauty of the chapel which is absolutely perfect for a Springfield wedding. It has a center aisle which is very important to most brides. The stained glass windows, arched cathedral ceiling, and imported marble flooring at the altar are impressive.
The covered walkway from the chapel to the Mansion leads to an area that is perfect for a wedding reception as seen pictured below. This room was originally the State Dining Room but later was transformed into a ballroom with a fireplace. The owner purchased a magnificent fireplace mantel for this room at the St. Louis World’s Fair in 1904, imported from France with dolphins carved into the beautiful wood. That is why it is known as the Dolphin Fireplace and the room is referred to as the Dolphin Room today.
There are several suites in the Mansion which would be nice for honeymoon bed-and-breakfast lodging, but I think the most romantic would be the Tower Suite. It is situated on the third floor and contains three rooms plus the bathroom. Two of the rooms are actually in the tower.
Upon entrance to the suite, my eyes were immediately drawn to the first tower room. Through the passageway, you can see a sitting area with beautiful lace curtains and a desk.
Once you enter the sitting room, you see this impressive winding staircase leading to the top of the tower. The view from this room is great but a fourth story view is even more inviting!
The view from the top of the tower is impressive. Looking over tops of trees, you can see the small lake which is on the property. This room is perfect for relaxing in the morning with a leisurely cup of coffee and maybe even watching the sun rise.
From this fourth story tower room, you can easily see the original school built on the property as well as many other places. By the way, some people like this suite as a retreat away from the busy, hectic life they live. This is also a place where people can retreat and refocus on what is important in life.
This Springfield bed and breakfast also makes great accomodations for the wedding party, relatives and guests attending the wedding from out-of-town. There are 13 luxurious bed and breakfast suites, each suite distinct with its own personality and charm. For more info: Weddings in Springfield, MO, @ The Mansion.

Exercising More
I think I’ve lost at least a pound or two from the three pounds I gained over the summer, so I won’t need the most effective diet pills 10K. I’m still trying to eat healthy and in moderation. Exercising on a regular basis has not been happening recently, though, so that area needs improvement. When things get busy, it’s hard for me to exercise like I should. Exercising more is definitely my goal right now.

Prayer Request
Please pray for The Rodgers Two. Her mom is not expected to live much longer. Her husband had a heart transplant recently, so she has really been through a lot! (Her husband is recovering well, thank God for that!)
Vitamins and Supplements
During different seasons of our lives, we need vitamins and supplements for various reasons. When we’re young, we just need the basic vitamins. During pregnancy, prenatalvitamins.org is a site where expectant mothers might visit. When we get a little older, there are vitamin and mineral deficiencies that people have due to various causes, and supplementing a healthy diet with vitamins and minerals can have a therapeutic effect. It is always good to check with one’s doctor first before taking vitamins and supplements.

Anybody Know of Any Teaching Jobs?
Well, the economy doesn’t seem to be getting any better. So many people are looking for jobs, including me. I’m thankful that I’ve been doing substitute teaching as much as I have been the past year and that I’ve already subbed eight days at the beginning of this school year. I was talking to one lady recently, though, who just received her alternative certification for teaching math. She went to a teachers job fair and there were around 1,000 people there looking for work…but only seven job openings for teachers. Needless to say, she didn’t find a job!
Menu Plan Monday 9/13/10
The weekend went by so fast! I need to go to the grocery store tomorrow after work, so I will probably stop by Walmart and pick up a Rotisserie Chicken (and I know some of you are not surprised at all). I have sub jobs lined up for tomorrow and Tuesday and possibly Wednesday plus I tutor Tuesday after work, so I need something easy. Here’s our tentative menu:
MONDAY: Rotisserie Chicken, baked potatoes, salad
TUESDAY: Rotisserie Chicken Tacos using leftover chicken
WEDNESDAY: Rotisserie Chicken Soup, again using leftover chicken
THURSDAY: Chef Salad with homemade turkey “bacon”
FRIDAY: Homemade pizza

Reflections
Several people in our neighborhood, including us, were flying flags yesterday in remembrance of the lives lost nine years ago. This weekend, I’ve read several comments on another blog about how we remember 9-11. Most of us will never forget that tragedy and what we were doing that day. Back then, many people were turning to God for comfort. Because when times are really hard or scary, God is our true source of comfort.
My prayer is that people will stop growing complacent. Our country is still vulnerable. Just as many turned to God for comfort back then, we still need to be turning to God daily and praying for mercy and protection for our country! (I pray for His protection and mercy on our country from time to time but forget to ask on a daily basis and need to start doing that…notice the complacency) It is God’s grace and mercy that has kept us safe so far!Organic Fruit Basket
For those special occasions, here are some good ideas for organic gifts that are edible. The organic gift basket is quite impressive with a good assortment of fruit. The “Simply Organic Fruit” comes in a nice basket that would be great to use for many other things. Check out The Fruit Company’s great selection of other organic fruit gifts.
