The Importance of Medicare Insurance
When my mother was in the last few years of her life, there were many medical bills. She never really had to go to the doctor much at all until she reached her late seventies. I know for a fact that her wonderful medicare insurance policy paid off, and she had very little out-of-pocket medical expenditures. If you don’t have medicare insurance, then I would suggest checking and researching to find a good policy.
Importance of Great Software & CPM
What is CPM? As an educator, I don’t know much about cpm, Corporate Performance Management. I do know the value of having software that enhances a company’s efficiency, though. As I’ve mentioned before, I work at a flower shop the weeks before Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and sometimes Christmas. One thing the owners of the flower shop did this year was to computerize their orders, wire-outs, wire-ins, enclosure cards, etc. That makes things much more efficient!
Back to the idea of CPM, PROPHIX Software was the recipient of the 2007 Innovative Solution Award for Corporate Performance Management. The judges chose the companies they felt had unique software solutions, a new application of traditional software, and worked towards being a great business value. There were 89 submissions received. Congratulations PROPHIX!
Starting Your Own Business
Have you ever wanted to start a business and be your own boss? We were in business for ourselves back in the eighties and found a nice place to rent for our music store. When looking for commercial real estate, location is a prime factor! It makes all the difference in the retail business to be easily accessible. We know that from experience!
Best Price Toys
Best Price Toys are known for their quality. I saw a tent on their site and thought of Baby J. When our son was young, he had a little tent that he loved to play inside of with his toys, and so I know Baby J would have so much fun when he’s a little older playing inside of this tent just like his uncle. He would probably have it full of toys and be right in the middle of them!
They also have swing sets that are safe, tough and durable. The KETTLER® Swing set is known for its uncompromising safety by the leading German Testing Institute. That means a lot to parents! I can just imagaine Baby J in just a few years swinging and saying, “Push me higher!”
Losing Weight
I lost two and a half pounds toward my five week goal of losing five pounds. I didn’t make my goal, but I made it halfway which is OK. I’ll keep working on the other two and a half pounds. It’s really hard sometimes to lose weight, but a steady slow weight loss works best for me. Making lifestyle changes is what I’m aiming toward. Some people use diet pills, but they should always check with their doctor before starting any type of weight loss program.
The Party Starts Here!
The Party Starts Here! has so many cute birthday invitations for all ages, but I tend to look at the kid’s party invitations. They have so many to choose from that it would be easy for someone to find invitations to match their theme. I also tend to look at little boy’s items now that we have a grandson who is nine months old. I know “C” and our s-i-l will plan a cute party for his first birthday!
Health is Top Priority
There are so many weight loss supplements out on the market that I don’t know anything about. I know some of them are not safe. It’s important for anyone wanting to take diet pills to research and study for themselves about any possible side effects. They need to discuss this with their doctor and make sure that what they’re wanting to take is safe for them, whether it’s generic Phentermine or whatever. A person’s health should always be the top priority!
5 Pounds in 5 Weeks, Week 5
I didn’t lose any weight last week and actually gained a pound although my eating was pretty much the same. One thing different was that I had a horrible chest cold all last week and I’m still not completely over it yet. Needless to say, I did not feel like walking and didn’t walk at all last week.
This proves how important walking is for me. Today, I did walk for 25 minutes, so hopefully I will increase the time and frequency now that I’m starting to feel better.

Baby J is Crawling :)
It’s been a while since I’ve written about our grandson who is eight months old. He started crawling this week, and it’s so cute to watch his little wobbly, first-attempt at crawling. His parents videotaped it for everyone, and as his mother said, “He hasn’t gotten down the form yet, but he’s definitely mobile.” Now…let the fun begin as he starts getting into things on his level!
This brings back memories of when our children were babies. Here are some of the things I remember them doing years ago when they started crawling and pulling up, things that are pretty common for babies to do:
- Tried to crawl into the open, empty dishwasher and got stuck. Fortunately, mom was standing there to rescue! (after I took a picture, of course)
- Tried to crawl into the fridge when we were getting something out of it.
- Dumped all the Cheerios out of an almost new box
- Tore leaves off my plant (non-toxic leaves)
- Took my Tupperware out of the lower cabinet on many occasions
- Got a hold of the toilet paper while I wasn’t looking and unrolled most of the roll
- “Unfolded” the clean laundry for me
Ranching
I don’t know much about cattle ranching. I didn’t grow up around a ranch, nor did I have any relatives who were ranchers. In college, I did have a close friend who grew up on a ranch, and I have visited there several times. Cattle ranching was second nature with her.
I read Lori’s A Cowboy’s Wife and what she has to say about ranching. They must need a lot of cattle supplies to take care of all those cattle. Also, there’s a neat museum we went to one time called the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame. So between Lori, my friend, and the museum, that’s where I’ve learned the little bit I do know about ranching.
