Most families nowadays have so many things that use a lithium battery. Last week, we took a day trip on Monday, which was Martin Luther King’s holiday, and we went to see our daughter (C), s-i-l, and Baby J. We had a wonderful time and packed so much into that one day. We all got to eat lunch together, and then after our s-i-l headed back to work, we went up to see our daughter’s new office, met with the realtor to see inside our daughter and s-i-l’s house they are in the process of buying, and then we headed to Target. (C and I love to go to Target and there doesn’t have to be any specific reason to go there.) Later, we went and had Mexican food for supper…a must!

The highlight of the trip was getting to see Baby J laugh. Those of you who have been around babies know how precious it is when a baby gets to the stage where he laughs at anything he thinks is funny. Well, Baby J thought it was so funny when I sang “Doo te doo” with his little songs on the CD. As you can tell, it doesn’t take much to entertain us. LOL

We watched an Extreme Home Makeover episode not too long ago where a family had a child with extreme health problems. The problems were so severe that she had to be home schooled and rarely got out of the house. Her brother was home schooled, too. The house built for them on the show was so cool because it had a small home theater in the basement where their family and a few friends could “go see a movie.” I’m not sure what kind of home theater seating they had, but it was wonderful they could go to a movie and feel a little more normal.

With Valentine’s Day just a little over two weeks away, a lot of people are thinking about love this time of year. What makes love last? For one thing, it takes total commitment. I know a lot of people (relatives and people from church) who have been married over 50 years. That’s inspirational!

1. Boil 4 servings of pasta. We prefer Barilla Plus cooked until soft.
2. While pasta is cooking, cook green beans and make salad.
3. Drain pasta, add a 12 oz. can of chicken breast (drained), your favorite pasta sauce, oregano, parsley, Parmesan & Romano cheeses. Simmer.

I saw a cute recipe for mini-dessert cups that would be perfect to serve at a wedding shower. It won’t be long until spring gets here and then there will be wedding showers for all the spring and summer weddings.

Above you see my business card that I actually designed. It was fun to create and choose my own logo, font, colors, and design to match my site. It was quick and easy, too. First, I chose the image I wanted to create. Then I chose the logo design from a wide selection of logos. I simply typed in the name and words I wanted on my card and arranged things where I wanted them. There was so much flexibility in the process. I changed my mind several times until I got it just the way I wanted it and ended up with a quality design that suited me.
