I have been looking at computer desks, and someday I want to get a small desk that wouldn’t take up much room. Right now, I’m using a medium-sized antique table that belonged to my grandparents, and although I like the combination of the antique with modern technology, the table does not have a special place for the keyboard. That makes it uncomfortable at times, so I end up getting out a wooden TV tray on which to place the keyboard. That’s more comfortable but doesn’t look so great. I like this cute little green desk, but maybe a more neutral color would be better for the longrun. The style sure is cute!

Hmmm…probably honey mustard.

Engagement & Anniversary Rings
Are you thinking about engagement rings or maybe anniversary rings? Seems like a lot of people are right now.
Our son-in-law is so creative (I guess that’s the graphic design artist in him) when it comes to giving our daughter rings. When he proposed at their favorite coffee shop several years ago, he had previously been there and bought one of their chocolate candy eggs, taken it home and carefully opened it so he could place an engagement ring inside, and then closed it up so that it looked like new. Our daughter, knowing nothing about this, opened the candy egg at the coffee shop thinking that our s-i-l had just purchased the candy. When she saw the ring, he got down on one knee and proposed to her. So sweet!
Well, recently they celebrated their five year anniversary, and so our s-i-l being the creative person that he is, bought a book and cut out a section in the middle of it so that he could place an anniversary ring inside of it. You can imagine our daughter’s complete surprise when she opened the book!
I don’t think I need to tell you what a great s-i-l we have!!
How to Get Ezekiel Bread Coupons (Food For Life Coupons)
Some of you may have been to the website for Ezekiel Bread and tried to get coupons unsuccessfully. On one page, they do have a place to click for coupons. However, it won’t respond and take you to coupons. So I went to “Contact Us” on their site and wrote them about my problem. Within a couple of days I heard from them saying that they would mail the coupons to me.
If you are wanting coupons, then you have two choices:
- Call Food For Life directly for coupons at 1-800-797-5090
- Go to the Food For Life website at www.FoodForLife.com and go to “Contact Us” at the top of the home page. When you write them, give your name and address and ask them to mail coupons to you.
It was easy, and I received 50 cent coupons in the mail for Food for Life products.
Here’s a recipe for FOOD FOR LIFE/ EZEKIEL 4:9 TORTILLA PIZZAS.

Great Way to Preserve Family Stories
Below is a video that Heather made with her dad using Dragon Naturally Speaking to preserve family stories, memories, life experiences and history. I wish I had had something like this when my parents and grandparents were still alive. One neat thing about the program is that it will Type at $150 Words Per Minute for $99! Watch the video and read below to find out more information!
The above video is not the typical Dragon NaturallySpeaking video. It was created by a blogger named Heather from British Columbia. She writes a blog called Boating in Beautiful British Columbia.
In the video that she has created, she talks about Dragon NaturallySpeaking. She talks about using Dragon NaturallySpeaking. In fact in the video, she is using Dragon NaturallySpeaking while she’s talking about it but you don’t quite realize that until the video is about halfway done.
The thing that’s REALLY interesting about this video, is not the fact that Heather is using the software and it’s not the fact the software works for her so much as HOW she chooses to use it. She took Dragon NaturallySpeaking and sat down with her father who is 95 years old. She spent a few minutes with him getting the software tuned to his voice so that the computer recognizes his sentences and words. Then she’s lets her father tell some of his great stories to the computer which transcribes everything that he says.
You can tell just by watching the video and listening to her father that he really does have some interesting stories to tell. I have a feeling that I could probably listen to the stories myself quite a bit, enjoying them immensely. And that too is not really the cool thing about this video. Although I’d love to hear her father tells more stories, the COOL THING is that she’s using Dragon NaturallySpeaking to capture a piece of her family’s oral tradition.
I can think of hundreds of different stories that my family has shared with me over the years that have not been documented. Our family is slowly losing some of those great stories and unfortunately, as we are losing some of our family members. We survivors don’t know all of the stories ourselves that our parents or grandparents or our great grandparents knew. But this video shows that you can use Dragon NaturallySpeaking to help capture some of those great stories that your parents and grandparents and great grandparents have probably told you dozens of times.
It’s something that we don’t always think about, but in a lot of ways those stories are some of the most cherished memories that we will walk away with from our family. And the sad thing is that our family cannot Be with us forever, but their memories can live on and this is where Dragon NaturallySpeaking really shows us its value. It’s true for $99 you can use Dragon NaturallySpeaking and you can type 150 words a minute. That’s a pretty good value for the software. It’s not too expensive and the benefit is tangible.
Now, you can get a useful tool at any computer store or Home Depot or Lowes, and if you don’t know how to use it well, then it really doesn’t matter what you pay for it. It is a waste of money.
Heather shows us a great way to use Dragon NaturallySpeaking to capture some of the most valuable information and stories from her father that she might ever be able to record not only for herself but for her daughter and her grandchildren someday and great-grandchildren and many other branches of the family even.
So that’s just another great reason why they Dragon NaturallySpeaking is a pretty cool piece of software. $99 could help you capture your family history easily and even make it indexable too, so that you can search it from your computer. That’s just amazing.
My name Brett Bumeter, and I write about Dragon NaturallySpeaking. I’ve been writing reviews about it for almost 2 years now. You could say that I’m sold on the software, and I hope that this article and this video helps show you the value of using it as well.
Sincerely,
Brett Bumeter

PS this article is about 630 words long and it took me five minutes to write and another minute or two to edit with Dragon Naturally Speaking 10. Even with editing time that’s close to 100 words per minute!

#1. Name something you use cream cheese in/on.
I rarely use cream cheese anymore, but this is my favorite recipe that contains cream cheese:
Sopapilla Cheesecake
#2. Do you use yogurt in any recipes?
If a recipe calls for sour cream and I have plain yogurt on hand, then I will definitely use yogurt.
#3. Macaroni salad. What do you like/put in yours?
I don’t make macaroni salad. However, one time I was asked to make and bring some somewhere, so I bought a boxed mixed and made it. Turned out good!
#4. Share a recipe that you use sour cream in.
I don’t use sour cream much. Here is a recipe I make that has optional sour cream:
Planning a Trip?
Wouldn’t it be nice to take a trip during this busy season? Seems like there is just so much going on, and a lot of people are experiencing this hectic pace. Some may be planning a trip soon and may be making airline reservations, hotel reservations, and arranging for travel insurance. That would be nice, but I would settle for a day trip somewhere to just get away.
Advertisers Target Our Children
Advertisers and also the entertainment industry target our children on a daily basis with products and also values that we may not approve of. It’s important as parents that we discuss these with our children because they are not always able to evaluate and think critically about these matters for themselves. They may take what is presented to them as the way it is. We need to protect our vulnerable children and teach them as they get older to think critically for themselves!

Family Night
When our daughter was a teenager in high school, there were so many activities going on plus when she was home there were always a dozen friends wanting to talk or chat online. So one night every week we would have “Family Night” where for two or three hours we would do something as a family. Sometimes it might be playing a board game or maybe watching a movie all together. It really didn’t matter what it was that we did. It was just the fact that our whole family, all four of us, was together. Here were our guidelines for family night (or at least what I can remember):
- Set aside one evening every week for Family Night, preferably the same night every week. Things happen, so change to another night one week if necessary.
- Don’t answer the phone during that time. 🙂 That’s what answering machines and voice mail are for.
- Choose something that the whole family enjoys, whether it be a board game, movie at home, or a family outing. (Vote if necessary.)
- Keep it fun! Enjoy laughing and sharing thoughts together.
I’m sure several of you do this and have great ideas. If you have time, I’d love to hear some of your ideas.
Xbox 360 Holiday Bundle
There are a lot of households that own at least some type of game system. One system that is very poplular is the xbox 360. In fact, our son-in-law and daughter own an Xbox. They are young professionals with a 14 month old baby and another one on the way, and they still enjoy playing a game on their Xbox from time to time.
If someone in your family is wanting an Xbox Pro System, keep in mind that Buy.com has an Xbox Pro System Holiday Bundle which includes Kung Fu Panda and LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventure!
Memory Suppliers.com
Last Christmas, our daughter and s-i-l gave me a digital camera. I have enjoyed using it and plan to use it more to take pictures for this blog. In fact, I have two SD cards and have pictures already on both of them to download and use in various posts. If I ever need another SD memory card, then I’m going to check out Memory Suppliers.com. They have good deals on SD cards and also micro sd memory cards.
